Being a college student is simultaneously the best and worst time of many people's lives. There's so much that's exciting and fun about this stage of life, but there's also a lot of responsibility and stress between school, work, and just navigating who you want to be and what you want do for the rest of your life. As a nearly-graduated college student myself, I can attest that between all the many things a young adult has going on every day, making good and healthy food to eat is something that often gets neglected. Aside from the constraints of time, many college students are living on a tight budget, making it difficult not to fall prey to the stereotypical ramen and mac-n-cheese diet. As I started to cook and bake for myself, I learned that with a little ingenuity and proper planning, making nutritious, delicious, and varied meals in college doesn't have to be as hard as it seems. Whether you're a fellow overwhelmed young adult like me, a mom trying to get good meals on the table for the family each day, or just someone looking to try out something new in the kitchen, you've come to the right place! The collection of recipes on this site are simple, delicious, and have a variety of fresh and healthy ingredients that will satisfy your tastebuds and nourish your body. Join with me on this journey of discovering how cooking good food can simple and exciting, even when your wallet is small and your time is short!

The Preparation

I started my Instagram account two years ago as I realized that I had a lot of fun cooking, trying new recipes, and taking photos of what I made. My friends who tried my meals could attest that I had a knack for making some tasty eats, so I decided, why not share my cooking and meal inspiration with more people? Thus my account named "simplee scrumpshis" was born, which eventually changed to "utah scrumptious" as I wanted to target a more local audience. I also enjoy eating out and trying new restaurants, so I started to document my visits to new places on my account to give people recommendations and to support small local businesses. The collection of recipes you'll see on this site are some of my best tried-and-true recipes. You can find more food photos and other recipe ideas on my account, but all the written-out instructions for specific recipes can be found here. Give some of them a try and send me an email at sienna.galvez@gmail.com to tell me how it goes!
