Helldivers valiantly fending off the Terminid Swarm in the name of democracy

The Terminid Threat

The Terminids

The Terminids, a swarm of bugs that Super Earth needs despite the threat they pose. The oil that is extracted from processed Terminid corpses allows for interstellar travel, Super Earth farms these bugs for those very reasons. However, on the planets bordering our galaxy, Terminids have proven relentless and capable of swarming at an alarming rate. Having already formed a Super Colony on Meridia that resulted in the necessary actions to destroy the planet, Super Earth keeps a watchful eye for any further suspicious and undemocratic activity

Naturally, it is vital that the Helldivers understand the various species to watch out for while dropping into Terminid controlled territory. Unlike the docile and contained specimens within Super Earth's farms, the wilder Terminids are vicious and capable of adapting at incredible rates. Below is more information regarding what species and threats the Helldivers may face when taking care of these interstellar pests.

Scavengers: Small Terminids that travel in packs, Helldivers ought to take notice of them before they can send the signal to the rest of the Hive to open a breach near your fellow Helldivers. It should also be noted that Scavengers are the base form of all Terminid life.

Hunters: Hunters are an advanced form of Scavenger, evolving wing-like appendages and are capable of closing the distance between them and a Helldiver with a single leap. Eliminate quickly to avoid getting injured by its quick attacks, and keep an eye out for packs of them as they attempt to blindside you or your fellow Helldiver.

Spewers: The Spewer is a different evolutionary branch of Terminid, developing large bulbous sacs of acidic bile they spray on their prey. Targeting the sacs will result in a faster kill, especially if it is either heavy weaponry or a grenade.

Warriors: An armored base evolution, the warrior is a subclass bred for combat. It possesses a thicker skin than hunters, but moves slower. However, at close range the Warrior can be very dangerous as it will attack in rapid succession.

Chargers: A heavily armored Terminid, and likely evolved from the Warrior or Brood Commander strain of Terminid, the Charger will rush Helldivers in an attempt to trample them underfoot, caution is advised, and heavy armor piercing weapons are advised to make quick work of this Terminid.

Brood Commander: The advanced form of a Warrior, the Brood Commander is capable of calling forth more Warriors to do its dirty work, armor piercing weapons are advised, as it's skin is thick. It should also be noted that there have been reports of Brood Commanders persisting in combat even after their heads have been democratically removed. Super Earth's response is simple: If it's still moving, keep shooting.

Stalkers: The evolved form of the Hunter, the Stalker has mastered stealth with its ability to camouflage itself in its surroundings while tracking its prey. When attacked by a Stalker, remember the direction it came, as its nest is likely nearby. Additionally, Helldivers should listen carefully to identify if a Stalker is nearby.

Bile Titans: The largest of the Terminids, the Bile Titan possesses an acidic sac in its underbelly, and will periodically spew those contents while chasing Helldivers. Eliminate with heavy strategems or weapons, and aim for the head for the quickest and cleanest kill.
