An Exhibit of Fairytales

Curated by Mary Billeter

What is a Fractured Fairytale?

A fractured fairytale is parody of a classic, usually well-known fairytale. These stories have the same basic characters and plot points as the original fairytale, but they have an interesting twist on the story. This could be a change in perspective, genre, setting, or other story elements. If you want more recommendations for fractured fairytales to read, check out the lists for every age on Brightly.
