This site is a exhibit of one of the most popular and iconic rock and roll bands in history.
In 1991, in the dreary town of Manchester, England the great abdn known as Oasis was formed. The original members of the band (Paul McGuigan, Paul Arthurs, Tony McCarroll, and Liam Gallagher) played their first show on August 14, 1991 at the Boardwalk club in Manchester. This was just the beginning. Before the band were to really have success, they needed one more member.
Shortly after their first few gigs, Liams brother Noel approached the group. Up until then, he had enjoyed what he heard and saw and wanted to be part of it. He wanted to join on the provisions that he would be the bands sole leader and songwriter. Noel wanted the band to commit to an earnest persuit of commercial success. Before he even joined the group, Gallagher had writen numerous songs that he thought fit the sound and feel of the band. The group agreed to Noels demands and set off on their persuit of muscial greatness. Their sound suddenly relied on simplicity as they restricted themselves to playing only barre cords and root bass notes. Although they went on to develop their sound over 18 years and seven studio albums, most of what fans hear is rooted in those original musical restraints.
This sound is what led me to fall in love with this band back in 2023. Back then, I knew just as much about this band as any other person. I knew their hit song "Wonderwall", but that was about it. One day Spotify recommended their songs "Dont look back in anger" and "Champagne Supernova", and I was hooked.
